CalSTRS is the second largest public pension plan and the largest teachers’ retirement fund in the United States. CalSTRS’ primary responsibility is to provide retirement related benefits and services to teachers in public schools from kindergarten through community college. CalSTRS mission is “Securing the financial future and sustaining the trust of California educators.”

CalPERS provides a variety of retirement and health benefit programs and services, and administers other programs dedicated to protecting the financial security of its members. CalPERS mission “is to advance the financial health security for all who participate in the system.” Their vision is “Pride in Our Services, Providing Confidence for Your Future.”
