Public Review: Special Education Instructional Materials Adoption

At Bass Lake Joint Union Elementary School District, we are deeply committed to providing an inclusive, high-quality education that meets the unique learning needs of every student. In alignment with California Education Code requirements and our commitment to collaborative decision-making, we are currently evaluating new core and supplemental instructional materials designed specifically to support our Special Education programs.

We believe that parents and guardians are vital partners in this process. Your insights, perspectives, and feedback are essential to ensuring that the materials we adopt provide the highest level of accessibility, engagement, and academic support for our students.

How to Participate in the Review Process

We invite all parents, guardians, and community members to review the curriculum currently under consideration for adoption. Below, you will find links to digital preview portals, publisher overviews, and alignment guides for each proposed program.

To help parents better understand how these materials will be used in the classroom, we will be hosting  a dedicated review session where curriculum representatives and teachers will be available to demonstrate and answer questions on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 2:30 PST. Please use this meeting link to join.

Your voice matters

After reviewing the materials, please share your thoughts, questions, or recommendations with mtownsend@basslakesd.org and/or sortega@basslakesd.org.  All feedback will be compiled and shared with the Board of Education prior to the final adoption vote.
